Next day on 21st of May we were supposed to go to our host’s farm which is located in mountains in 2 hours drive from Kodaikanal but unfortunately our bus didn’t showed up and our departure was slipped to tomorrow.
On 22nd of May we finally reached our destination - beautiful farm in the middle of no-where in mountains. I would definitely recommend to stay at this place for people who would like to escape from the noisy cities and enjoy calmness and beauty of nature...Shortly after our arrival we’ve met 2 other workawayers – Lucy from UK and Jesse from Australia with whom we had great time together sharing our travelling experience about India and Kodaikanal in particularly. It was a bit sad to say goodbye to them as in 2 days they had bus back to Kodaikanal but I’m sure that the planet is very small and we will have a chance to see each other later, maybe not in Kodaikanal but in another amazing place!
Our experience on the farm was full of openings about the eco-farming process – from composting till harvesting of the plant which will end up they way on the tables of local families in Kodaikanal.
For those who doesn’t like to sit quite (like me) there are a lot of possibilities for activities like hiking to nearest village. As a treat for yourself for a long walk you can have a chai in the shop next to bus stop, always crowded by local people who looked a bit amazed by foreigners;)
After a week on farm we were back to Kodaikanal and spent several days in the host’s house with his family, who are great people and welcoming hosts. Don’t miss opportunity to visit Prana SPA to reward yourself after the tough week on the farm. The SPA is next to the house so you will not have to walk a lot after very relaxing massage…
As wise people are saying “its better to see one time rather than to hear about it 100 times” that’s why I do recommend you to visit Kodaikanal and spend at least a week on the farm and who knows…maybe you will fall in love with this place so much to decide to stay here to become Kodaikanal inhabitant;)
